Associate Attorney - Workers' Compensation Litigation

About the Opportunity

A growing regional defense practice is seeking an Associate Attorney to provide exceptional legal advocacy and advisory services in the area of Workers' Compensation Litigation. The firm represents employers, insurance carriers, and self-insured entities in workers' compensation matters and is committed to delivering strategic, client-focused legal solutions.

The ideal candidate will work closely with clients to establish strong professional relationships while providing best-in-class legal representation. This role offers the opportunity to manage cases, develop litigation strategies, and contribute to operational initiatives that support the firm's growth and client service objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in Georgia Workers' Compensation matters from inception through resolution.
  • Conduct client meetings and consultations to establish strong working relationships and understand client objectives.
  • Develop and implement legal strategies tailored to each matter and client need.
  • Prepare pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, and other legal documents.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support litigation and case strategy.
  • Negotiate settlements and participate in mediations, hearings, and other proceedings.
  • Manage case files, deadlines, and reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and clients to ensure efficient case handling and favorable outcomes.
  • Support strategic, operational, and tactical initiatives aligned with business and client objectives.
  • Maintain the highest standards of professionalism, ethics, and client service.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Currently licensed and admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Georgia.
  • 1-5 years of experience in Georgia Workers' Compensation Litigation (minimum 1 year required).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently while effectively managing multiple cases and deadlines.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to client satisfaction.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong writing skills with experience drafting legal motions, briefs, and case analyses.
  • Experience handling hearings, depositions, mediations, and settlement negotiations.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and capable of managing a busy caseload with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain positive client relationships.
